Article One - Beta Vs Vivo, Pine Valley by hppav

There are a few Pine Valley shots in the "Vivo" Trespasser Trailer, which you can see here.

The following article compares the recently uncovered Build 96 version of Pine Valley to that of this promotional video.

Control Building, Parking Lot, Transformers
This first image shows only a few differences between the preview (left) and build 96 (right).  All the doors are missing in this version, for an unknown reason.  Trespasser may have been unable to properly handle doors.  Also note that the transformers are not surrounded by an electric fence in the Vivo clip.  Also, in the distance, the reinjection well is represented only by a pipe curving into the ground in the clip while in the build the well is an extremely complex model.  The road in the Vivo clip is much darker than the final version of the road.

Broken Bridge 1
One thing you'll notice right away is that the two sections of the bridge appear to be closer in this version.  Also the powerlines haven't yet been implemented (They weren't even finished in the Build 96 version either).  Also the rotating board puzzle hasn't been implemented yet.  The terrain, however, is exactly the same.

Broken Bridge 2
Now, continuing on, you'll only notice a few minor variations.

Broken Bridge 3
There's some stumps present here in the clip that are missing in Build 96.  Also the road is that same dark texture seen in the Geo plant.  You can barely make it out but the Build 96 image should make it a tad bit easier for you.

Control Building Roof
Here we can see the difference in the reinjection well clearly.  Another main difference is the size of the draw bridge.  The electric fences are also missing in this version.

Inside Control Room
This shot doesn't change at all between versions.  We can't even tell if the status monitor is there or not in this version.

walkway1
That red splotch is a compression artifact, ignore it.  One thing to note is that the pipes follow a slightly different path to the cooling tower originally.  Also it's clear that the ridge was a late addition.  The distant terrain, however, is largely the same.  The size difference between the drawbridges should be pretty clear in this image.

condenser 2
No real change here save for the inclusion of the sign, the pipes, and the ridge.  Distant terrain appears the same.  Some of the vegetation was raised to the new ground level when the ridge was made.

condenser 3
Interesting note though, the original physics objects for the pipe's original location remain.

Inland scenery
In the uggly blob on the left you can only tell a few minor differences in terrain, primarily on the area furthest right and the slope up the hill.  This also demonstrates the difference in size of the original walkway, however here it's only slight.
